FLOODS AND SLIDES DISASTER IN TUZLA/B&H
Metereologists findings are that such heavy rains have not affected Bosnia and Herzegovina in the last 120 years.
The country is in the state of emergency, there is massive destruction of peoples’ homes, bridges, roads and other infrastructure.
Due to the big slides in Tuzla (over 640 at the moment), hundreds of people are being evacuated from their homes. 269 people are being accommodated in in two hotels, one sport center, youth camp and primary school, and majority of the people are accommodated at family and friends’ homes. 24 houses are completely destroyed, 53 heavily damaged, 146 endangered. So far, 707 people are engaged in the actions of protection and rescue. They are in big need of basic items such as food, potable water, clothing, and in the later phase furniture and other house appliances.
We urge all people who are in position to donate any amount, which will be a great help to the people of Tuzla region, who are displaced from their homes.
The donated money will be collected by the local humanitarian organisation of “Prijateljice” (“Girlfriends”) and used specifically for the flooding disaster.The money will be used to purchase the a/m items and all neccessities of the people in need!!!
